Flourish Kids Clinic and Flourish Early Intervention was founded by Ebru Bilir-Khan who is passionate about improving outcomes for familes and their children, especially those who may have a developmental or cognitive impairment. She is particularly interested in autism spectrum disorder and helping neurodivergent individuals reach their full potential. As a seasoned mother of three, she admits she could probably play all day everyday knowing it makes a positive difference with children!
With 12 years of experience in the autism space, she brings not only a wealth of knowledge but relatable, lived experience and practices full time as a Play Based Therapist in private practice. Taking a deeply Humanistic frame, her approach is informed by a broad range of early intervention techniques and integrative play therapy modalities. Her approach will also draw on her understanding of evidence based developmental and behavioral models, to create specific, playful opportunities for skill development.
She believes in connection through play to immensely improve social and cognitive outcomes during the Early Childhood years and is an advocate for its role in Early Intervention (ECEI). Through her work at Flourish, she partners with parents and caregivers to promote Conscious, Connected & Positive Parenting and focuses on a Filial approach where parents can be the primary therapeutic agents for their children. She enjoys taking a wholistic approach in her work and loves thinking outside the box!
Ebru has a background in Counselling practices as well as Medical Science (Honours-Clinical Neuroscience) from The University of Technology, Sydney and currently holds an affiliate membership with The Australian Play Therapists Association.
